Ingredients
- Virgin olive oil 3 tbsp
- Large onion (chopped) 1
- Cloves garlic (crushed) 2
- 2 Cans chopped tomatoes 14.5 oz
- Red pepper flakes 1/4 tsp
- Balsamic vinegar 2 tsp
- Agave/sugar substitute of your choice 2 tsp
- Fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces 3/4 cup
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Whole wheat pasta 1/2 box

Method
- Heat oil in a skillet. Cook onion and garlic over medium heat, until tender.
- Stir in tomatoes, red pepper flakes, vinegar and agave, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 40-50 minutes.
- Add basil, salt and pepper in at the end. Serve over whole-wheat pasta.
