  • Tomatoes (do not drain) 1. can (28 oz)
  • Fresh basil (snipped) 3 tbsp
  • Garlic (minced) 1 tsp.
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp.
  • Pasta (cooked) 8-12 oz.
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Method

  1. Place tomatoes in food processor or blender. Cover and process until smooth.
  2. Stir in basil; set aside. In a large skillet, cook garlic in hot oil over medium heat until lightly browned.
  3. Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
  4. Serve over hot cooked pasta. If desired, sprinkle with additional basil.
