Ingredients
  • Brussels sprouts (trimmed) 12 oz.
  • Low-fat margarine 2 tbsp.
  • Whole chestnuts well drained 3 1/2 oz.
  • Vacuum-packed 3 1/2 oz.
  • Cooked chestnuts
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Slivered almonds to garnish 1/2 cup

Method

  1. Cook the Brussels sprouts in a large saucepan of lightly salted, boiling water for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain thoroughly.
  3. Melt the margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add the Brussels sprouts and stir-fry for 3 minutes, then add the chestnuts and nutmeg.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir well.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish, top with almonds and serve.
