Peppermint oil has been used for hundreds of years in many parts of the world as a digestive aid. Even today it is customary in the U.S. for restaurants to offer after-dinner peppermints to guests. Peppermint oil cools, calms, and relaxes delicate esophageal, stomach, and digestive valve tissues, that for many, allow natural belching and gas passing to take place thus relieving bloating and meal stagnation. Mike (Rachels father) takes two small caps per meal/snack and if he is bloating, he bites one or both of them until they break in his mouth, then swallows with water.

Mike does this so the throat and stomach get the benefit of the peppermint oil. You can follow the bottle directions if you like but if you want to use the product as Mike does, check with your doctor first since this is not per the manufacturers instructions.

Note: Those with small throat size due to significant acid damage or who choke easily should not use Mikes technique but can simply follow the bottle directions. Tip: Mike says if you bite and swallow as he does, do not exhale through your nose immediately as peppermint is strong to the nasal passages like wasabi or hot sauce.

Rachels Soothing Tea, Slippery Elm, and Peppermint caps are the one, two, three, punch that help reduce more symptoms than any other combination of non-drugs that we are aware of. Again, dont look to any bottle or pill for a cure, but they are excellent for feeling better, symptom reduction, and just plain old relief. These top three are, according to Mike, the best natural relief you can find.
